A little running news & freebie announcements

First off, all next week, starting on Monday, I’m going to have some blog freebies which match my Round 3 submission for FPD’s Teacher’s Pet. It was a mini kit called Strawberry Fields Forever (and, that mini kit will be available as one of the freebies, too.) I’ll have 3 different new freebies each up for 2 days at at time and then the original mini kit up for 2 days before all of it goes into the store as a complete kit. Here’s a preview of what the final kit will look like, so be sure to stay tuned all this week & up through next Monday so that you can grab the entire kit for free:

It will be available for sale on September 2nd at ShopJMT and my store at SBB, but, as I said, get it all for free here on my blog in parts over the next week or so.

Next bit of news: I broke my PR for a 5K this weekend. My previous PR (personal record) was 33:06, but today I ran a 32:54 5K. I was SO happy to make it in under 33 minutes! Yay me! I did finish 120th out of about 140 people, but I’m estatic about my time. Of course I came home, pigged out on carbs & then crashed for 3 hours, but that’s pretty much what I do after EVERY race. This makes 6 races for me this year& that alone may just be another personal record. Especially since I’ve got at least 1 more coming yet in November, and maybe one in October, too. Heck, if I can find a late September one, I’d do it.

Round 3 of Funky Playground Designs Teacher’s Pet

And I made the cut! This is my submission for Assignment #3, which was to create a mini kit using 3 pieces of clip art and keep a consistent theme throughout. We had to make sure at least 75% of the kit used the clip art in some form. I think every piece in this mini kit uses the clip art! Now, if this was a regular kit, it wouldn’t be so “themed,” but that was the challenge, so this is what I came up with. Click here to find out how to get it!

Wish me luck as we get into the home stretch. The winner (or winners?) will be given a chance to sell at FPD. I think we have 2 more assignments to go!

You Go Girl!

I’ve got a new kit in my store at ShopJMT for a special price of just $2.00. It’s called You Go Girl! Go pick this up now at this special price. Next week it’ll be in my store at SBB and be the full price of $4.99.

This is a girly kit, but not in the traditional sense. It’s not full of flowers & bows, but of fun, funky colors with patterns and pieces that any tween or teen would enjoy!

Included are 8 papers: Pink “Girl”, Blue “Boy, 3 semi-solids (green with a sprinkling of confetti squares, pink with a sprinkling of confetti hearts and blue with a sprinkling of confetti circles), a bright starburst pattern in blue and green, a fun pink, black and white stripe and a sk8tr girl checkered print. Each grunged just enough and finished off with some swirly overlays or distresed edges.

Elements include: Foam pieces (green squares, pink and black circles and hearts, some come with alpha-bead adorned words like “Go” and “Girly”, word art in different forms (acrylic, sticker with epoxy words), lots of buttons (epoxy and traditional) in pink, blue and green, a graph journal square and one embellished with some word art and swirls, 2 ribbon bits and 3 black/white ribbons, some acrylic borders and frames embellished with “candy” sprinkles and an upper case alpha (made with foam circles and “glued” alpha beads).

Everything has been created at 300ppi. Papers are 12×12. All acrylic pieces come in a shadowed and non-shadowed version and all other elements have internal shadows only where needed.
