My 2nd submission for FPD’s Teacher’s Pet
August 6, 2008, 7:04 am
I was fortunate enough to make it to the 2nd round of the Funky Playground Designs Teacher’s Pet Program. Our 2nd assignment was to create a pack of extracted elements. This is a stretch for me. I’m not much of a realistic designer, but I had fun & was actually inspired to create a whole kit or two from some of the elements I played around with for this challenge. So here is A Hodge Podge of Elements and you can get it here (no more passwords, so just grab it from the link in the gallery description):

Who knows what else is in store for this program, but I’m having fun playing along. And the nice thing about this program is that they’re trying to narrow down to people who they think might fit in at FPD. But if you don’t make it to the next round, you can still take part in the assignments, learn (the fabulous Chere Kaye is giving tips, hosting chats & providing tutorials). So for this month at least, I’ll be learning & honing my skills and hopefully creating fun, fresh and unique items for the challenges.

Jelly Buttons!
August 4, 2008, 6:49 am
I made up a cool new product called Jelly Buttons. I was originally going to call them just “37 pieces of flair” but then decided to use the name my DD & I often call her Belly Button. So here are Jelly Buttons:
They’re just $2.00 and you can get them at ShopJMT or SBB.
[And, in case you're wondering what "flair" is, here's a quote from the movie Office Space. Jennifer Aniston has to wear little buttons on her clothes for work - kind of like Friday's or a place like that. "Joanna: You know what, Stan, if you want me to wear 37 pieces of flair, like your pretty boy over there, Brian, why don't you just make the minimum 37 pieces of flair?"]The End...For Now | File Under new products | Leave a Comment |
Want this for FREE?

WANT THIS FOR FREE? WELL GO HERE & GET IT!
Funky Playground Designs is having a little apprentice program & this was my submission for the first assignment, which was to create a “trendy” mini kit. My take on “trendy” is fun, bright colors & really cool shapes. Retro seems to be really in these days, too, so I had a retro theme in mind when I came up with the color scheme and patterns. As far as trendy elements, I see a lot of acrylic/epoxy and buttons (flair) seem to be really popular, too, so you’ll see some of that in here. You have to get the FPD Newsletter in order to get the password to unzip, though, so go get on the list now!

Race frenzy continues
July 16, 2008, 11:03 pm
Ugh. What a horrible 5K I did tonight. I didn’t even look closely at the clock when I finished, but it was around 36:30. I even walked some of it. It was hot, humid & hilly. Three things you don’t want for a race (or heck, anytime). Plus, I haven’t trained for this. I kind of took a break from hard training after doing the 10K and I paid for it. Plus, I ate dinner just before I left. Major mistake. A full belly doesn’t go well for an evening run. And, besides, the amazing food they had post-race, I just couldn’t enjoy because I was full from dinner. A local tavern sponsored the race and they had wings, hoagies, hot dogs, soft pretzels…all of my favorites! What was I thinking eating a full dinner before it?
Well, one thing for certain - I have to get back to training and training hard. I’ve gained 20 pounds since April - mostly because of the nasty prednisone I was on for hives for 5 straight weeks. And, man, I just can’t get that weight off. Plus, I’m still on the doxy for Lyme Disease (2nd round) and I get sick if I don’t eat enough before I take it. Just another week or 2 of this round of Doxy and then I’m done. I see the specialist the end of the month & we’ll decide what, if anything, I have to do next.
**Official race time now posted: 7-16-08 Phil’s Tavern 5K - 36:31

A LO from me and a new product
June 6, 2008, 12:18 pm
I was inspired by the cover of Sports Illustrated that came in the mail yesterday - has anyone seen it? It’s got the Celtics and the Lakers and shows an old picture in a vintage-looking frame. I thought, “How neat! I wonder if they did that digitally or if it’s an actual photo of an old slide/photo?” I took that as my inspiration and then started making my own slidemounts and photo frames. I wanted to incorporate some stamps, writing and miscellaneous numbers and, well, “Mangled Frames” is what was born from that inspiration.
You can get Mangled Frames at SBB or ShopJMT and they’re $3.00 for a set of 13 frames, 2 labels and a large staple. The frames come in 3 different slidemounts and 3 different photo frames, each with several different versions. Each one has either labels, text, stamps and torn cardboard to make them look old and used. Here’s a preview:
And a LO I did using one of them:

Credits:
By me, Jennifer M. Trippetti - Sisal background paper, Lily doodle, red ribbons from Serenity Now; Mangled Frame, Blackboard Alpha, Red Matted Alpha, Embroidered Alpha and Denim Strip from Pick-A-Pocket, Feltie Heart.
Staples from Maya’s Personal Stash - The Ultimate Staple Collection.
Love from Springy Sayings by Traci Murphy (blog freebie, I think).
Tag, Stitching, Memories from Digi Scrap Tabs by Christina Renee.
Background Cardboard (modified) from Salvaged Creamy Cardboard by Rachel Young.
Oh, and the journaling: There’s a Void in my heart and I don’t think it’ll ever be filled. Memories - We miss you, Kip but we did what was best for all of us. (It’s referencing us having to give him up because he was biting the kids. But, fortunately, he was adopted by someone without kids just 4 days after we gave him up.)

New Product: Mariposa - just $1 until Friday only! *FREEBIE, too!*
May 22, 2008, 7:06 pm
EDITED 6-15-08 - This product has been moved to my store at SBE and you can now purchase the full kit and get the blog freebie included in your download. The freebie has been removed from my blog now. Thanks!
Grab this now while it’s only $1, because I think I’ve gone out of my mind. My newest release is called Mariposa & is perfect for your pretty little girls! It’s on sale ONLY AT SHOP JMT for just $1 through Friday night at midnight EST and then it’ll go to it’s regular price of $5.50 and also will then go up at SBB, too.
And here are some additional previews:

What a steal for just $1, right? Oh, and did somebody mention freebie? I had some extras that didn’t quite fit with the kit - the paper pieced butterflies was where I started and then decided to do a more whimsy/freestyle look with the kit. But I liked them so much, I had to add some numbers and a paper, too, so here you have it: (click the image to download it from 4shared - I’d love comments here or at 4shared!)

And, because I think I really HAVE lost my mind, be sure to check out the rest of my $1 specials going on now through Monday, 5-26-08: (click HERE to see my $1 specials page at ShopJMT):

There’s something for everyone there - alphas, paper packs, mini kits & even a full kit in there! Have a great weekend everyone!

New product & sale announcement for NSD!
May 1, 2008, 10:25 pm
Well, I’m back in business - still suffering with some hives, but they’re getting better & I was able to get back into the swing of things this week. Which is good news, because I have a 10K next Saturday & have to get some more miles in before then! It’ll be 3-4 more days of 5 mile runs over the next week so I can get in shape & be ready for this race. But, this weekend is something even more special - it’s National Scrapbook Day on Saturday, May 3rd. SBB is going to be having all kinds of fun chats throughout the day, so check out this thread for more info. In addition, there are lots of sales going on, so check out this thread for a great list! And now for my sale info. First off, at my store at SBB, I’m having 40% off with coupon code 40SBB and it’s good through May 5th.
And, at ShopJMT, everything is 40% off - no coupon needed. You’ll see everything marked down.
At Scrapdish, all my items (except the $1 items) are 25% off.
And now check out my newest product, just in time for NSD. It’s called Sights of Spring {Dandelions} and (obviously) was inspired by the lawns full of dandelions this time of year…ours included. So before I get out the Scotts Weed & Feed to get rid of them, I was inspired to create a kit about them. It’s available at SBB and ShopJMT and with my 40% off sale running, you can grab it for under $3!
And here’s a cute LO I created with it:

That’s my DD, Lauren and man, she just looks so grown up in that picture, doesn’t she? She’s been wanting her hair braided every day lately & I think she looks so much older with her hair off her face, so I’m happy to do it for her. It usually doesn’t last through nap, but at least she gets a morning of nice hair!
Well, I’m off to bed for the night so have a Happy Friday everyone!

New product! Rebirth
April 9, 2008, 11:14 am
This is a little late for Easter, but it wasn’t Easter that I had in mind when I designed this kit. My oldest DD is getting her first holy communion and I wanted something simple for scrapping those types of events. I think it’ll work well for Easter, too. So, here is Rebirth:
It is on sale at ShopJMT or Scrapdish and you can get it for 25% off through the end of April. So the current price is just $3.74. Here are some additional previews & a layout I did. (Special thanks to Anna Hunter for the photograph I used in the layout.)

Oh, and while I’m at it, I don’t think I mentioned the new alpha set I came out with last week. Here are some Plastic Alpha Clips that you can pickup at ShopJMT or Scrapdish for just $2.50 for 5 alphas! Great price!
