Let’s Get it Started! (Vol. 1)

This is something new & unique to help you get your layouts started! Let’s Get it Started Vol. 1 at SBE and only $2.40 through Monday!:

Included in this set are 4 basic quick pages in neutral colors created mostly with my She’s Krafty Papers. There’s plenty of room for you to embellish them with your own scrap stash. In addition to the quick pages, I’ve included 10 different word art / titles, pre-assembled and created mostly from my All Natural Alphas. Some are stapled, some are stitched. but they’re all ready to just plop on your page. (Includes the following titles: No! Why? STAR, LIFE, Live, I “heart” U, AWESOME!!!, {sweet}, fun and aspire). Finally, I’ve included 2 crumpled bag shapes (a star and a heart).

And I can’t wait to show you some of what’s coming to SBE next week. It’s a new kit that I just adore & I’ve even created some LOs with it. Just wait for it, because it’s FAB!

Well, this week, I’m hoping to get things back on track since school starts on Tuesday. I’m so excited to have both Allison AND Tyler in school full days this year! Ty SO needs to be back in school. He needs to get more reading & writing in. I’ve really slacked off this summer & haven’t done much with him at all. Allison has kept up with her reading, but not Ty. And he was just average to begin with. But, I’m sure that 1st grade will teach him so much more & he’ll get better as the school year goes on.

A little running news & freebie announcements

First off, all next week, starting on Monday, I’m going to have some blog freebies which match my Round 3 submission for FPD’s Teacher’s Pet. It was a mini kit called Strawberry Fields Forever (and, that mini kit will be available as one of the freebies, too.) I’ll have 3 different new freebies each up for 2 days at at time and then the original mini kit up for 2 days before all of it goes into the store as a complete kit. Here’s a preview of what the final kit will look like, so be sure to stay tuned all this week & up through next Monday so that you can grab the entire kit for free:

It will be available for sale on September 2nd at ShopJMT and my store at SBB, but, as I said, get it all for free here on my blog in parts over the next week or so.

Next bit of news: I broke my PR for a 5K this weekend. My previous PR (personal record) was 33:06, but today I ran a 32:54 5K. I was SO happy to make it in under 33 minutes! Yay me! I did finish 120th out of about 140 people, but I’m estatic about my time. Of course I came home, pigged out on carbs & then crashed for 3 hours, but that’s pretty much what I do after EVERY race. This makes 6 races for me this year& that alone may just be another personal record. Especially since I’ve got at least 1 more coming yet in November, and maybe one in October, too. Heck, if I can find a late September one, I’d do it.

Round 3 of Funky Playground Designs Teacher’s Pet

And I made the cut! This is my submission for Assignment #3, which was to create a mini kit using 3 pieces of clip art and keep a consistent theme throughout. We had to make sure at least 75% of the kit used the clip art in some form. I think every piece in this mini kit uses the clip art! Now, if this was a regular kit, it wouldn’t be so “themed,” but that was the challenge, so this is what I came up with. Click here to find out how to get it!

Wish me luck as we get into the home stretch. The winner (or winners?) will be given a chance to sell at FPD. I think we have 2 more assignments to go!
